The Trumpf – LQ football match

Sporting competition in Heimerdingen

The legendary football match was held for the ninth time now on the evening of 29 July 2016. One of the participating teams was made up of employees from TRUMPF Ditzingen and the other with LQ employees. The event, which was held in Heimerdingen, was organised by the hosts TRUMPF.

As always at this annual game, the primary aim of the tournament was to have fun and enjoy playing rather than winning. Roberto Santarelli (LQ), who stepped in after the referee had to cancel at short notice, made sure of this as he presided over the game as a neutral.

The weather was glorious and both teams gave their best. LQ was strong but TRUMPF was even stronger. Even at half-time, the players from Ditzingen – under their trainer Martin Ott – had the upper hand. After the first 45 minutes, the score was 4:3 in TRUMPF's favour.

Then came the shock. Shortly after the start of the second half, referee Santarelli had to end the game because one of the TRUMPF players was badly injured. The game therefore ended with a 4:3 victory for TRUMPF.

Finally, the eventful evening drew to a close with a meal together at the tennis club in Heimerdingen. We would like to thank the players from TRUMPF for a fair and exciting game. Thank you, too, to the organisers and the travelling fans from LQ for their fantastic support. Last but not least, we would like to send our best wishes to the injured player for a speedy recovery.
